Our History
Family Matters Law, A Professional Law Corporation is a full-service family law firm dedicated to helping clients navigate the complexities of domestic relations law. We understand that the legal system can be intimidating—especially during emotionally charged times. That’s why Attorney Biernacki offers more than legal expertise; she offers a steady, compassionate, and strategic voice when it’s needed most.

Attorney Biernacki finds deep fulfillment in guiding clients through challenging situations, whether financial, emotional, or both. She provides not just legal representation, but also a second perspective—focused attention, seasoned judgment, and unwavering advocacy rooted in years of family law experience.

Attorney Biernacki is a proud member in good standing with the California State Bar and is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. She earned her Juris Doctor from John F. Kennedy University School of Law in the San Francisco Bay Area and holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from San Francisco State University. In 2024, she became a Certified Family Law Specialist, a distinction awarded by the State Bar of California to attorneys who demonstrate exceptional knowledge and experience in their practice area.
To earn this certification, attorneys must:
- Demonstrate substantial experience in family law through specific tasks and case work;
- Complete at least 45 hours of continuing legal education in family law or related fields;
- Receive positive evaluations from peers, including judges and fellow attorneys.
Outside the courtroom, Attorney Biernacki is a devoted parent and community member. She enjoys family time, attending her children’s activities, traveling, and participating in classic car shows—her favorite car being a 1964 Buick Special. A lifelong resident of the San Francisco and East Bay areas, she finds peace driving along Highway 1, especially to spots like Pismo Beach, Moss Beach, Pebble Beach, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Sausalito, and Santa Cruz.
Ms. Biernacki is also a member of the Sacramento County Bar, Placer County Bar Association, and the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association. While in law school, she earned the prestigious Witkin Awards in both Professional Responsibility and Criminal Law. During her time as a certified law student interning with then–District Attorney Kamala Harris’s office in San Francisco, she successfully opposed a veteran public defender’s motion to suppress evidence in a sensitive criminal case involving sexual assault and exploitation of minors.
